This page says what happens to your data when you use EmbeddedProto.com. It describes what this site actually does, not what a template says a website usually does.

Who we are

Embedded AMS B.V. publishes this site and decides what happens to the data it collects.

What we collect

The pricing request form

When you ask us about pricing we store what you typed: your name, company, email address, phone number if you gave one, the plan and currency you were looking at, and your question. We also store the page you sent it from, the time, and the IP address it came from.

We use it to answer you, and we keep it because it is the record of a business conversation. The legal basis is that you asked us to take steps before entering a contract, and, for the IP address, our own interest in being able to tell a real enquiry from an automated one.

The newsletter form

When you subscribe we store your email address, the time, the page you signed up from, your IP address, and the exact wording you agreed to. That last one exists so we can show what you consented to, rather than what the form happens to say today.

The legal basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to us. Withdrawing it does not affect anything we sent before.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records ordinary web server logs: the page requested, the time, the browser, and the IP address. This is how any web server works and how faults and abuse get found. We keep them short and do not use them to build a picture of you.

Cookies

This site sets one cookie. It carries a security token for the forms, it expires when you close your browser, no script can read it, and it goes nowhere else. Under the ePrivacy rules that is a strictly necessary cookie and it needs no consent, which is why you are not being asked to dismiss a banner.

We set no advertising, tracking, or profiling cookies, and there are none for you to refuse.

Statistics

We count visits with Simple Analytics, a Dutch company. It stores nothing on your device, sets no cookie, collects no identifier that follows you between sites, and does not give us anything that points at you as a person. It tells us which pages are read and which links are followed. Their servers are in the European Union.

Who else sees your data

• Our hosting provider runs the servers this site and its database are on.
• Our email provider carries the message that tells us you filled in a form.
• Our newsletter provider holds the list we send the newsletter from, and therefore your email address if you subscribed.
• Simple Analytics, as described above.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

How long we keep it

• Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe. We keep a record that you unsubscribed, because that is how we avoid mailing you again.
• Pricing requests: as long as we may still be doing business with you, and we review them periodically and delete what has gone cold.
• Server logs: a short period, set by our hosting provider.

What you can ask us to do

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to our using it. Write to info@EmbeddedAMS.nl and we will answer within a month.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
